George Howlett, Jnr.

George Howlett, Jnr.

Trustee of the Lambeth Hayles Estate development in 1894.

We hope the Geo. Howlett Jun. in this photo is our one. The photo comes from : "An early photograph of seven Lambeth Georges, a 'notable septette of teetotallers' in the Temperance Movement which had its origins in 1837 with meetings on Kennington Common. They are; George Howlett Snr (a coal merchant), George Campbell of Fentiman Road, George Howlett Jnr (the 'Coke King' and Alderman), George Pritchard a Lambeth Guardian, George Johnson a jeweller, George Thornelow a plumber and 'good Templar' and Rev. George Murphy associated with the Surrey Chapel and Hawkstone Hall."
