Corporal. Number G/5125 of the 10th Battalion of the Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment). Killed in action with no known grave. He is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres. He was awarded the British War and Victory Medals.

From the Sub Fire Station 6W, Cheyne Place. Died in a fire which took the lives of seven firemen, known as "The Wednesday".
