Gerard Martin Traynor

Gerard Martin Traynor was born on 9 November 1959, a younger son of John Francis Traynor (1923-1965) and Marian Veronica Traynor née Nesbitt (1926-2016). His birth was registered in the 4th quarter of 1959 in the Durham North Eastern registration district. 

He married Jillian M. Horsburgh in the 2nd quarter of 1994 in the South Shields registration district, Tyne & Wear and they had one son: Liam Matthew Traynor whose birth was registered in October 1995 in the South Shields registration district.

A leisure and tourism officer with Easington District Council, Durham, he was part of a four-man council delegation attending a conference in Swansea, Wales, when he died, aged 37 years, on 19 September 1997 when travelling in the second carriage, Coach G, in the Southall rail crash.
