Glenton Powell

Our colleague, Andrew Behan, has researched this young man: Glenton Anthony Powell was born on 19 January 1965 and died, aged 16 years, on 25 January 1981 as a result of injuries sustained in a fire at party being held at 439 New Cross Road, London, SE14 6TA on 18 January 1981. His death was registered in Crawley, Sussex and he was buried in Lewisham on 6 February 1981. Local media claim his date of birth to be 18 January 1966, but Birth & Death Indexes held at the General Register Office, London, show the date as 19 January 1965.
