Harold Stabler

Harold Stabler

Designer. Born in Levens, Cumbria. Closely associated with Carter and Company. The London Underground abounds with tiles and decorative ventilation grilles were designed by him. He was also skilled in working metals, and a gifted modeller of figures, both human and animal. Among his commissions were the Ascot Gold Cup and the gold plate for Government House, Delhi. Elected a "Royal Designer for Industry" in 1936
