Harry Bates

Sculptor. Born Stevenage. the picture source gives a good bio, and has photos of some of his work included the ornate corbels at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Great Swan Alley, Moorgate. Died at home, 10 Hall Road, St John's Wood. He left his widow destitute having himself funded the large and extravagant decorative bronze work on the pedestal of his Roberts statue in Calcutta.
