He was married to his wife, Bharti, and they had two sons, Shamir and Rishi. The family lived in Warren, New Jersey, USA.

He was a computer systems manager working for the financial services firm of Cantor Fitzgerald and died, aged 48 years, whilst in their offices on Floor 103, North Tower, 1 World Trade Centre, Manhattan, New York, USA.
