Hillard Fenlaw

Pilot Officer, 71 Eagle Squadron, American, killed.

2022: Pat Koetz, who was researching for kindly contacted us. She sent us this image of Fenlaw and transcribed the biographical text from the same source: "PILOT OFFICER HAROLD ROGER FENLAW, born April 19, 1918. Son of Dr. and Mr. J.A. Fenlaw of Dallas. Volunteered for service Nov 1940. Assigned to Eagle Squadron RAF. Trained at Love Field, Dallas, and London, England. Served overseas from Feb 4, 1941 to Sept 7, 1941, in London. He paid the Supreme Sacrifice Sept 7 1941."

Pat adds "Awarded the Purple Heart (not sure on this, unless they were awarded retroactively after the war to those that served in the Squadron. I assume this is a US only decoration)." Many thanks Pat, it's a great photo.
