Idris Alfred Newnham

From : "It was Idris Newnham, a boy about my age and a family friend, who had a particular type of muscular dystrophy (Duchenne), which is a genetic disorder that causes muscle weakness. He very sadly died aged 18." The photo shows Idris shortly before he was confined to a wheelchair.

Our colleague, Andrew Behan, states that Idris Alfred Newham was born on 20 December 1975 in Walthamstow, London, E17, the younger child of Gwilym J. Newnham (b.1951) and Eva T. Newnham née Goodrich (b.1951). His birth was registered in the 1st quarter of 1976 in the Waltham Forest registration district. His elder sister was Ania Sian Newnham whose birth was registered in the 1st quarter of 1972 in the Waltham Forest registration district.

He died, aged 17 years, on 18 December 1993 in Highbury, London, E5 his death being registered in the Islington registration district. He was on 23 December 1993 in Islington.
