Irja Syhnove Skabo

Irja Syhnove Skabo was born on 3 July 1950 in Oslo, Norway.

Our Picture Source and the  give more information about her including that her employment commenced with Pan American World Airways on 7 February 1972.

She died, aged 38 years, on 21 December 1988 whilst working as a flight attendant aboard Pan AM Flight 103 travelling from London (Heathrow) Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City, when it exploded over Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. She was survived by her husband Bjorn Skabo; her seven-year old son, Kevin; her parents-in-law, Eivind and Mary Skabo; her sister, Ingrid, and her brother Jorgen.

She is also commemorated on both the  and the  that are at Dryfesdale Cemetery, Dumfries Road, Lockerbie, DG11 1HZ, as well as on the in Arlington National Cemetery, 1 Memorial Avenue, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
