Our Picture Source gives much information about his life and confirms that he was born in . He was the 4th of the six children of Samuel Morley (1730-1776) and Mary Morley née Hardy (1733-1798).

He died, aged 79 years, on 10 May 1848 and was buried on 19 May 1848 in the Bunhill Burial Ground, City Road, London, EC1.
