Died aged five years. John Percy Brennan was born about 1912 at 4 Nankin Street, Poplar, a son of John Brennan and Jane Brennan née Constable. His father, who was born in Ireland, had been a Police Sergeant and who had died on 30 October 1911. John P Brennan, who was known in the family as 'Johnnie' to differentiate him from an older brother, John Martin Brennan, who was known as 'Jack', attended Upper North Street School where, along with 17 other children he was killed, aged 5 years, as a result of a bombing raid by German aircraft on 13 June 1917. One of three children not buried in the mass grave, he was buried at St Patrick's Cemetery, Leytonstone. has an image of his grave.
