John Stears

Film special effects expert. Born Michael John Stears in Uxbridge. He produced effects for eight of the James Bond films. He was invited by George Lucas to work on the Star Wars films, where he created the robots R2-D2 and C-3PO. Died in the UCLA Medical Center, California.
