Kings Theatre Hammersmith

Kings Theatre Hammersmith

Designed by W.G.R. Sprague, it was a variety theatre and playhouse. One of the earliest theatres in which all members of the audience had a clear view of the stage. In the 1950s and early 1960s it was used by the BBC, and ten episodes of the 'Goon Show' were recorded here. In spite of being a popular and successful venue it was demolished in 1963.
