Laburnum Street School
One of the 11 "children of England" present on 7th July 1933 when The Princess Royal laid a foundation stone for a nurses home for the Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.

Drowned in the 1898 HMS Albion disaster, aged 3 months. Buried in grave 5 at the memorial in East London Cemetery.
Now called Carew Academy. It teaches pupils aged 7 to18, with a wide range of ability levels and additional learning and complex needs.
Moved from Spital Square in 1975 to the building in Bow Road.  Spitalfields Life reports on a 2013 school reunion at the old building, which is now Galvin Restaurant - old photos and reminiscences.
