Born in Essex.  Caught supporting the wrong side when Edward IV assumed the throne, he was arrested and convicted of high treason which led to the loss of his head at Tower Hill.
Lambeth Labour Councillor 2006 – 14 and Lambeth Mayor  2010 - 11.
Statesman. Harley Street was named after him. Responsible for the creation of the South Sea company and was the first governor. This company later became a major player in the Atlantic slave trade.
Worked for the Royal Arsenal Co-operative Society. Was on the building committee for the Bostall Estate in 1900.
Elected Guardian of the Lewisham Union - Lee in 1894.
