Mabel Pollie Groves

Mabel Pollie Groves

Survived to at least 102.

2016: Mabel caught Andrew Behan’s eye so he went searching in the archives and writes:

Research shows the death of a Mabel Pollie Groves recorded in Camden in July 2004, giving her date of birth as 30 January 1900, aged 104 years, so I think we can say for certain this is the Mabel Groves honoured with the tree.  Further research shows that a Mabel Pollie Groves birth was recorded in Greenwich in the first quarter of 1900, so I think we can reliably state an area of birth for this lady.

2018: Andrew adds "On the outbreak of World War Two in 1939 she is shown in the register that was complied for the issue of National Identity Cards as residing at 25 Arthur Road, Wimbledon, where she was employed as a Parlour Maid to Retired Ship Owner John Carlisle and his wife Emily."
