Marcus Ölander

Marcus Ölander was born on 20 November 1936 in Helsinki, Finland, the elder son of Ragnar Eyvand Ölander (1899-1957) and Dolly Ölander (1902-1998). His younger brother was Thomas Ölander (1939-2018).

A radio journalist with the Swedish Broadcasting company he died, aged 60 years, on 19 September 1997 when travelling in the second carriage, Coach G, in the Southall train crash.

His body was on 1 October 1997 in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and he is also commemorated on the in Hietaniemen Uurnalehto, Hietaniemenkatu 27, 00100 Helsinki, Finland.
