Midshipman Charles Madan

Died as a result of serving in the Russian War 1854-6. HMS Sanspareil. His name also appears on a memorial at Lichfield Cathedral. gives: "To Spencer Madan M.A. Also of his dear son Charles Madan R.N., Midshipman of H.M.S. ‘Sans Pareil who fell in the attack of the Combined Fleets of England and France upon the forts of Sevastopol, October 17th, 1854, aged 18 years.’"
