Mrs Jemima Luke

Writer of hymns and religious studies. Born Jemima Thompson in Islington. She planned to do missionary work in India, but illness prevented her from doing so. She married the Reverend Samuel Luke, who became pastor at the Orange Street Chapel in London. Writer of several hymns including 'I Think When I Read That Sweet Story of Old'.
