Myra Josephine Royal was born on 20 December 1958 in the Dominican Republic and grew up in Houston, Texas, USA. She was a daughter of Boswell and Eloise Royal.

She was residing in Hanwell, London, when she died, aged 30 years, on 21 December 1988 as a flight attendant aboard Pan AM Flight 103 travelling from London (Heathrow) Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City, when it exploded over Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.
