Norman Little

Lieutenant Norman James Richard Little was born on 13 September 1883 in Plumstead, Kent. A student at the Royal Academy Schools from 26 July 1904 until July 1909. A full résumé of his life and military service is contained in our Picture Source.

He was killed in action, aged 33 years, on 13 March 1917 and as he has no known grave he is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Rue de l'Ancre, Thiepval, France. Probate records show his address to have been 86 Sinclair Road, West Kensington and that when probate was granted to his father on 16 May 1917 his effects totalled £923-11s-3d. On 25 July 1917 his army effects totalling £80-19-3d were sent to his father, as was his £5-0s-0d war gratuity on 3 December 1919.

On the Royal Academy memorial his name is given as N. J. R. Little.
