Olive Evelyn Jones

Olive Evelyn Jones was born on 25 October 1898, the daughter of John Jones and Mary Hannah Jones.

As a Voluntary Aid Detachment member in the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service she entered France on 1 June 1918 and stayed there until 23 December 1919, for which she was awarded the British War Medal 1914-1918 and the Victory Medal.

Electoral registers from 1928 to 1939 show her listed at the Infirmary at the Royal Hospital, London, SW3. She was shown as an uncertified nurse in the England and Wales Register that was compiled on 23 September 1939. It confirmed that she was born on 25 October 1898, that she was a single woman and that she was resident at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea. 

Her death, aged 43 years, on 16 April 1941 was registered in the 2nd quarter of 1941 in the Chelsea Registration District, London and her on . At the time of her death her widowed father was living at Bridgehouse, Quakers Yard, Treharris, Glamorganshire, Wales.

She is shown as "OLIVE JONES  INFIRMARY NURSE" on a memorial plaque in Middle Court, Royal Hospital Chelsea, Royal Hospital Road, London, SW3. She is also commemorated on the .
