P. F. Story

Surveyor active 1937. A gives him the rank 'Lt Col.'. In a for the 20th (Light) Division he appears as 'Major P.F. STORY, D.S.O.'.

As we researched the Bingham Court plaque we discovered that Story and the architect, Brace, had known each other a long time, certainly since WW1. A indicates that Story and Brace had a long-standing business relationship. And on a different page of that website we found Story and Brace listed, one after the other, in a for the 20th (Light) Division. This indicates a long-standing friendship too. Bearing in mind that the building was erected by a successful career soldier, the Marquess of Northampton, we wonder if they had all met in the war and worked closely together ever after - back in the days before 'competitive tendering' was a thing.
