PC Nina Mackay

PC Nina Mackay

Born as Nina Alexandra Mackay, c.1972. Working in the Metropolitan Police she went to a flat to arrest a wanted man. He was a paranoid schizophrenic who had previously attacked a PC and expressed hatred of the police. Mackay forced entry into the flat and was fatally stabbed.

Our colleague, Andrew Behan, informs us that she was born on 27 November 1971 and her birth was registered in the Epping, Essex, registration district. She was the only daughter of Sidney Mackay, a former Chief Superintendent in the Metropolitan Police and she had joined the Metropolitan Police Force in 1992.

Her killer was sentenced to be detained indefinitely in a secure psychiatric hospital but was after 15 years in 2012.
