A bomb was hidden underneath the bandstand, possibly weeks in advance, with a timer set for the particular concert by the band of the 1st battalion Royal Green Jackets. Seven bandsmen were killed, and four in the audience were injured. This explosion happened just two hours after the Hyde Park bomb.
