Rev. William Hagger Barlow

Vicar of Islington, active 1894. From "The Christian of May 2, 1890, gives an excellent portrait and a biographical sketch of the Rev W. H. Barlow, B.D. Vicar of Islington, formerly Scholar of the College 9B.A. 1857). He will be best known to the present generation of Johnians as the father of our much-missed H. T. E. Barlow, now Chaplain to the Bishop of Sodor and Man."

Our colleague Andrew Behan provides: "Born in Matlock Derbyshire and married Eliza Mary Williams on the 15th August 1861 in Bristol. He died in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, (although in those days it fell within Northamptonshire) where he is buried in the cathedral. His estate amounted to £27,573 7s." There is a fuller biog at .
