Born Hackney, great-grandson of Oliver Cromwell. From '' we learn that he was an attorney and solicitor in Chancery. Married Sarah on 3 September 1723 (the 65th anniversary of Oliver's death) in “the chapel connected with the banqueting-house in the palace of Whitehall”, probably the Banqueting House itself since it was used as a chapel from 1698 - 1893. He was making some sort of point, wasn't he? Had an "altar-monument" for inscriptions erected in the family vault in Bunhill Fields. Lived in London but moved to Hampstead late in his life and died there. Buried in the family vault.
