Robert Aickman

Robert Aickman

Author and conservationist. Born at 77 Fellows Road, Hampstead. One of the founders of the Inland Waterways Association, where he met and collaborated rather too closely with the author Elizabeth Jane Howard. He had a lifelong fascination with the supernatural, which was reflected in his 48 'strange stories'. He was also involved in the investigation into the famously, haunted Borley Rectory. Died at the Homeopathic Hospital, Camden.
