His father described himself as an electrical engineer's wireman.

On the outbreak of World War One his father volunteered to join the army, serving in the Royal Engineers and his service records show that family were living at 66 Ellesmere Road, Bromley-by-Bow.

He was shown on the 1921 census return form as 12 years, 4 months and in whole time education, living in three rooms within 66 Ellesmere Road, London, E3 with his parents and his four surviving siblings: William Arthur Rosamond - an engineering apprentice employed by Kendall & Son at French Place, Shoreditch, London; Albert James Rosamond; Maud Alice Rosamond and Arthur Henry Rosamond who were all also in whole time education. His father described himself as an electrician employed by Trollope & Colls.

He was still at 66 Ellesmere Road, Bromley, on the electoral registers from 1931 to 1933.

On 24 December 1933 he married Rose Lilian Day (1911-2000) in St Mark's Church, Victoria Park, London, E9, where in the marriage register he is shown as aged 24 years, a bachelor and an electrician, living at 19 Wendon Street, London, E3, the son of William Rosamond, an electrician, whilst his wife was described as aged 22 years, a spinster and a mantle machinist, residing at 77 Locton Street, London E, the daughter of Alfred Day, an excavator.

They were to have three children: Robert William Rosamond (b.1936); Edward Henry Rosamond (b.1939) and John Frederick Rosamond (b.1945).

Electoral registers in 1934 and 1935 show him and his wife listed at 83 Hewlett Road, Bow, London, E3.

In the 1939 England and Wales Register he was recorded as an electrical fitter living with his wife at 57 Ellesmere Road, London, E3 and electoral registers confirm that they were listed there from 1939 to 1958. From 1959 to 1972 the electoral registers show them both at 10 James Brine House, Dorset Estate, Hackney Road, London, E2. Telephone directories up to 1983 show the address as 10 James Brine House, Ravenscroft Street, London, E2.

He died on 12 March 1986 and his death was registered as aged 78 years in the Tower Hamlets Registration District, London.

He is shown as 'R•H•ROSAMOND' in their list of Councillors on both the foundation stones of James Middleton House, Middleton Street, London, E2 and Stafford Cripps House, Globe Road, London, E2.
