Our colleague Andrew Behan provides: "Robert Stephens Cufflin was born in Islington, the son of Robert Stephens Cufflin and Naomi Cufflin, née Lamont. His father was a Watch Maker & Jeweller. He was baptised at St Mary's , Islington on the 19th October 1859 and the family were living at this time at Islington Green. In the censuses of 1861 and 1871 the family were living at 58 Upper Street, Islington and on the 1881 and 1901 census returns the family were shown at 57/58 Upper Street, Islington. He had followed his father into the jewellery trade and together with his brother, Arthur St. Patrick Cufflin they traded at 432 Strand, Westminster. On the 1911 census he was shown residing at 37a Aberdeen Park, Highbury, with his married sister. He died, a bachelor with effects of  £10,034 3s.5d."
