Roger Keith 'Syd' Barrett

Musician. Born in Cambridge. He originally trained as a painter, and in 1967 co-founded the group Pink Floyd. He was ousted from the group in April 1968, because of mental illness due to his excessive use of psychedelic drugs. He began a short-lived solo career, before retiring from public life, and returned to painting and dedicating himself to gardening.
