Ruth Ling

Longest serving councillor in Lambeth and journalist.

Ruth Ling was the second of the three children of Trevor Oswald Ling (1920-1995) and Mary Ling née Inkster (1926-1973). Her two sisters were: Elspeth M. Ling (b.1951) and Catherine J. R. Ling (b.1958).

Her birth was registered as Stephanie Ruth M. Ling in the 3rd quarter of 1952 in the Derby Registration District, Derbyshire.

Electoral registers in 2003 show a Ruth M. Ling entitled to vote at 116 Abbeville Road, London, SW4 9LU.

Her death was registered as Ms Ruth Ling, aged 61 years, in the SW4 area on 15 June 2013. However the record gives her date of birth as 9 October 1952, but this would appear to be an error as her birth was registered some months earlier in 1952.
