Samuel Morse

Samuel Finley Breese Morse was born on 27 April 1791 in Charlestown, Massachusetts, USA.

He was an artist who travelled to Italy, Switzerland ,France and England where in 1811 he gained admittance to the Royal Academy.  His name became world-famous when he invented the Morse Code. He died of pneumonia, aged 80 years, in New York City and was in the Green-Wood Cemetery, 500 25th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11232, USA.
