He died, aged 84 years, on 23 June 1913 in Haslemere, Surrey and was on 26 June 1913 in St Bartholomew's Churchyard, Tanners Lane, Church Hill, Haselmere, GU27 1BW.

Probate records confirm his date of death at The Library, Inval, Haselmere. Probate was granted to three of his sons: Jonathon Hutchinson FRCS (1859-1933), Llewellyn Hutchinson (1865-1932) a printer, Roger Jackson Huchinson FRCS (1867-1950), and to a son-in-law Allen Chandler (1849-1926). His effects totalled £92,269-18s-6d.
