Siv Ulla Engstrom

Siv Ulla Engström was born on 21 September 1937 in Gothenburg, Sweden, the daughter of Axel William Engström (b.1899) and Svea Eleonora Engstrom, née Karlsson (b.1904).

Our Picture Source gives some information about her, confirming that she joined Pan American World Airways on 5 June 1960 and was based in New York before becoming one of the charter members of the London base in 1972.

Telephone directories list her from 1977 to 1980 at 16 Dedworth Manor, Maidenhead Road, Windsor, Berkshire, and from 1982 to 1984 at 9 Rays Avenue, Windsor.

She died, aged 51 years, on 21 December 1988 whilst working as a flight attendant aboard Pan AM Flight 103 travelling from London (Heathrow) Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City, when it exploded over Lockerbie, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, and was survived by her sister, Lillian Villaneuva.

She is also commemorated on the  in Arlington National Cemetery, 1 Memorial Avenue, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA, as well as on both the  and the  that are at Dryfesdale Cemetery, Dumfries Road, Lockerbie, DG11 1HZ.
