In 1896 two ancient schools, St.Saviour’s Grammar School and St. Olave’s Grammar School, both dating from the 16th century, were amalgamated to become St Olave's and St Saviour's Grammar School for boys.
In 1899 the sources of support for these schools grouped together into the St. Olave’s & St. Saviour’s Schools Foundation.
In 1903 this Foundation opened a new school, St Saviour's and St Olave's School for Girls. It is on the New Kent Road, junction Bartholomew Road.
