Captain Stanley Millick Moore Anderson was born in Indiana, USA.

He joined the , and served as a Pilot Officer in . On 29 September 1942 the squadron, together with the other two Eagle squadrons, was transferred to the , becoming the of the  and he served there with the rank of Captain.

He was killed in action on 15 April 1944 when his areoplane, serial number 41-6407 was shot down by a German over the North Sea off the coast between Ostend and Blankenberghe, Belgium. As he has no known grave his commemorated on the at the at Henri-Chapelle, Arrondissement de Verviers, Liège, Belgium
