Star Brewhouse, Wapping

The Star Brewhouse is shown on John Rocque's map of 1746, situated immediately north of what is now the junction of Wapping High Street and Hilliard's Court.

It was first recorded in 1688 and was in the family of Henry Raine, when it was very successful. In 1772 the owner went bankrupt and the building was last insured as the Star Brewhouse in 1792.
