submarine Perseus

submarine Perseus

Lost in WW2, 70 years ago, sunk off the coast of the Greek island of Cephalonia. A crew of 60 on board, all perished, 1 survived. How? John Capes was a passenger on the sub and he escaped. Survivors from a sunken sub were practically unheard of and, when he finally got home 18 months later, he was not believed. Only when the wreck was found in December 2010 was his story confirmed. We heard this amazing tale on a 2011 BBC Radio 4 programme but you can read it at the picture source.
