Thomas Allen

Flight Lieutenant Thomas Willcox Allen was born on 13 June 1914, in , South Carolina, USA, the younger of the two children of Leslie Lyle Allen (1877-1950) and Sarah Beaufort Allen née Sims (1887-1918).

He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, service number J/15015 and later was attached to the Royal Air Force's

He died, aged 27 years, on 31 May 1942 when flying a Spitfire Mark VB, serial number W3645, having strafed enemy coastal freighters off , Holland, he hit the water, damaging his engine and propeller. He attempted to get back to his base, but crashed into the sea.

As he has no known grave he is commemorated on of the at Runnymede, Egham, Surrey.
