Tony 'Cowboy' Charles

Pioneer participant in the Notting Hill Carnival. At the British Association of Steelbands (BAS) 7th Annual Awards, in 2005,  Tony 'Cowboy' Charles was presented with the award for 'contribution to the promotion of steel pan music, art, culture and heritage'. And in 2013 he was presented with: 'BAS 2013 Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award'.

Aged 10 he started playing the steelpan in 1948 in Trinidad. Came to the UK in 1959. Founder member of the UK Pan Tuners Guild.
