Victor Hugo Watson

Born near the Kennington Oval but his family returned to Yorkshire when he was very young and he saw himself as a Yorkshireman. In 1908 he joined Waddingtons, a printing firm which developed a specialism in playing cards and in the '30s moved into jigsaws for which there was a craze. Was responsible for acquiring the rights to Monopoly.
