Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov Lenin

Founder of the USSR. Born and died in Russia. Political theorist and Communist revolutionary. Reviewing a book on Lenin in the Observer, 23 October 2016, Nigel Jones wrote: "... once in power Lenin proved a tyrannical, murderous despot ...". Visited London 6 times between 1902 and 1911. Lenin died at his dacha, just outside Moscow. Since then his body has been on display in the specially constructed Lenin's Mausoleum on Red Square.
