Westfield College

Founded in 1882 by Constance Louisa Maynard and Ann Dudin Brown, as a residential women's college modelled on women's colleges already established in Oxford and Cambridge. The name probably came from the two houses in which it was founded; Westfield Villas. gives an unlikely alternative.

it merged with the University of London. In 1989 it merged with Queen Mary College and half the Hampstead campus was sold to King's College, London. By 1992 Westfield College had moved out. 2015 King's College moved out. The site and its five Grade II listed buildings were sold to developers in 2016 and they created ''.

The picture shows staff and students in 1889 in the back garden of Maresfield Gardens.
