Ziggy Stardust

'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' is a concept album based on the story of a fictional rock star who is the human manifestation of an alien being attempting to present humanity with a message of hope in its last years of existence. It was intended to serve as the basis for a stage show and/or television production. Its sales earned it a platinum disc in the U.K. and gold in the U.S.A.
