On 15th January 1913 Bamford & Martin Ltd, manufacturers of the first Aston Martin cars, commenced business here.

This is a gated mews and the plaque is out of sight from the street. We were lucky that the gate was open on the day we visited.
Only a few months after this plaque was erected the house was on the market for £2.5M. (We don't think any cars were included in the price.)

We've not seen wet slate plaques look so bad before. Perhaps this is some slate-imitation, which can't cope with rain.
