Baker Street Station Restoration

Inscription

This plaque marks the restoration of Baker Street Station platforms 5 & 6.
The two platforms were part of the world's first underground railway which opened in 1863, between Paddington and Farringdon.
Unveiled by RM Robbins, April 1984.
{On the small lower plaque:}
Architect WDC Hall B Arch (Dunelm) RIBA Director of Architecture and Design
London Transport Executive
Managing Contractor - Henry Boot Building

The walls of both platforms are adorned with information boards giving the history of the railway in text and pictures.
We are guessing that the Robbins who did the unveiling is the same one who wrote the London transport history books.
