This plaque marks the restoration of Baker Street Station platforms 5 & 6.
The two platforms were part of the world's first underground railway which opened in 1863, between Paddington and Farringdon.
Unveiled by RM Robbins, April 1984.

The walls of both platforms are adorned with information boards giving the history of the railway in text and pictures.
We are guessing that the Robbins who did the unveiling is the same one who wrote the London transport history books.

The plaque can be found on platform 6 which serves the westbound Circle and Hammersmith & City lines.
