Bedford House

Inscription

"Dined at my Lord Treasurer's, the Earle of Southampton, in Bloomsbury where he was building a noble square or piazza, a little towne" John Evelyn's diary, 1665.

{These words encircle a bas relief drawing of what we understand is Bedford House and the square, but it is practically invisible, except for the date:}
1727

In October 2010 we noticed that this plaque has been removed and replaced with tarmac. 2012 we spotted that this plaque has been replaced. Let's hope they used stronger glue this time.
