Bombs 7/7/05 - St Pancras church sculpture

Inscription

{On the plaque laid into the plant bed between the sculpture and the railings:}
In memory of the victims of the 7th July 2005 bombings and all victims of violence.
' I will lift up my eyes unto the hills' Psalm 121.
Archangel Michael, The Protector

Onyx, Emily Young 2004,

Seeing as how this face has only one eye, and it's closed, the quotation seems particularly ill-chosen.

Site: Bombs 7/7/05 - St Pancras church sculpture (1 memorial)

NW1, Euston Road, Church garden

The sculpture can be seen in our photo, just behind the lady with the white socks.

We are uncertain when this sculpture was erected here. 's caption has "It was created in the memory of the people who died during the July 7th, 2005 bombings and was inaugurated in September of 2010." However the earliest available Google Street View, August 2009, shows it and its plaque already installed.

We thought the sculpture had been there before the bombs, possibly in a slightly different position, and that it was non-commemorative, so we must thank Phil Sutters who queried why we did not have it as a memorial to the bombs. This caused us to check and find the plaque.
